Applicants must possess strong leadership, communication and organization skills and the ability to foster good community relationships. Applicants should have knowledge of District IV and PIAA regulations and a commitment to enhance the Loyalsock Township School District athletic programming. Responsibilities, include but are not limited to: coordinates all school sponsored athletic, extracurricular, co-curricular, and community related events in accordance with the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) standards and guidelines, Board Policies, and/or district procedures; administrates the access to and use of district facilities and grounds for all athletic, extracurricular, co- curricular, and community group events and activities; supervises all athletic personnel; oversees the interscholastic sport schedules including the reservation of gyms, fields, and other competition and practice venues; and ensures safe athletic programs through the effective utilization of athletic trainers. Regular attendance at evening interscholastic events both in and out of the district to support all athletic programs is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic/Sports Management and Administration preferred. Applicant must hold certification in Athletic Administration (Pennsylvania School Athletic Director’s Association and National Interscholastic Athletic Director’s Association) or be willing to pursue certification within three years of appointment.
The Athletic/Activities Director position is included in the Act 93 Administrative Support Agreement.
